Fixed Based Trainers

Fixed-base training devices, or often referred to as FTDs, are an important component in today’s pilot training programs.

These devices can be used to increase groundschool effectiveness by introducing an interactive tool, optionally equipped with the ViXR virtual instructor. Certified, these devices can offload tasks from the heavily utilized FFS devices. By incorporating fixed-base training devices into training programmes, FFS time is utilized more efficient, therefore these are crucial for optimizing total training capacity.

With their small footprint and attractive cost level, fixed-base training devices offer great training value, ranging from initial familiarisation applications through recurrent type rating training. The regulated training credit is expect to even further increase after the effectuation of the new rule making currently addressed under EASA NPA 2020-15.
